When you hear someone say, "Walk a mile in his shoes", It means not judge a person based on appearance or circumstances because you don't know what they're dealing with on the inside. You're passing judgment on another human being from the outside looking in. You might also hear someone say, "Walk a mile in her shoes." or "Walk a mile in my shoes." but each saying usually means the same thing.
