It was first thought that the earliest audio recording of the human voice was made by Thomas Edison in 1877, when he recorded Mary had a Little Lamb on his then new invention called the phonograph. But since then, a new recording has surfaced and it is of a woman singing the French folk song “Claire de la lune”. It was discovered in an archive in Paris, France where it rested for the past 150 years by a group of American audio historians called "First Sound". The original recording dates back to April 9, 1860 making it the world's first known recorded song. You can listen the recordings using the link below.
