Hydrochlorothiazide, pronounced (hye droe klor oh THYE a zide) is a diuretic. A diuretic drug allows for increased passing of urine which causes the body to lose salt and water. This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure. It also reduces the swelling and water retention caused by various medical conditions such as heart, liver and kidney disease.
How to use this medicine:
This medicine should be taken orally (By mouth) with a glass of water during each dose. You should always follow the directions exactly as printed on your prescription label prescribed by your doctor at regular intervals. Remember that you will pass urine frequently, so be sure that you will have regular access to a bathroom after taking this medicine. Do not stop taking this particular medicine unless advised by a licensed medical professional.
