I happened to be in Las Vegas for an event not to long ago. If you're going to be doing a lot of regular driving or traveling fairly long distances (10 miles or more) on a daily basis, I would suggest renting a car for the weekend. But they can be quite expensive, so this would be my last option.
But on the other hand, if you only plan on going short distances (less than 10 miles) from day to day or staying in close proximity from one place to the next, then I would definitely suggest taking an Uber.
They're less expensive than cabs and a heck of a lot cleaner and most drivers are more friendlier than any cab I've ever taken from my personal experience.
I only used Uber from the airport and again the convention center, so it was pretty simple and they always show up on time, as was the case with other cities that I've traveled to.
Taxi's also charge more for the same distance as Uber. So again, the cheaper and better option would be Uber.
Have fun on your trip and good luck.
