Okay, you have a three part question.
1. First, if you're looking to buy the fiberglass shell only, you have three options.
A. Small shell - (26 ft. long or less) is going $10,000–$19,000 respectively
B. Medium shell - (27–34 ft. long) is going to cost around $13,000–$20,000
C. Large shell - (35 ft. long or more): $15,000–$27,000
(Note: Bare in mind that these price ranges do not include shipping, filter system, etc.)
Occasionally a customer just wants to buy the fiberglass pool shell. (For self installation etc.)
A fiberglass pool installation involves many more costs. However, some people out there want to do everything and buy every single individual component.
Whether you are self-installing the pool or having it done professionally, which ever route you plan to take, understand that the cost to maintain an in ground pool will far outweigh the initial cost of the installation over 10- 20 period.

2. It is important that you shop around before making a final decision with regards to installation.
People are more prone to making wise purchasing decisions based on word of mouth or recommendations by their family or peers over any other form of advertising.

With regards to maintenance, swimming pools are a lot of fun in the summer months, as well as a great way to cool off.
Unfortunately, if not properly maintained a swimming pool can become a breeding ground for bacteria such as E.coli as well as protozoa, fungi, and viruses within just two weeks.
Swimmers introduce a variety of contaminates into a swimming pool with each entry, including lotions, cosmetics, urine, fecal matter, and dirt.
Left alone, your pool can quickly become a toxic (cesspool) that no one will want to enter.
There are numerous methods for pool maintenance, and the size of your pool and the amount of use it gets will factor into how much and what type of maintenance you’ll need, all of which can affect the cost.
The average homeowner spends at least $250 monthly on DIY pool maintenance costs, with some homeowners paying an additional $100 to $200 monthly on professional maintenance as well.
