The song Zombie, was a hit rock song released in 1994 by Irish band 'Cranberries' who lost lead singer Dolores O'Riordan. She was found dead in a London hotel on January 15, 2018 (R.I.P I still love her music as a solo artist and with the Cranberries as a unit.)
She was only 18 when she first answered an ad to join the group back in the late 80's. After she auditioned and got the job, she lead the bad to several hits during the 90's.
Even the choice of Samuel Bayer to direct the video for "Zombie", the Cranberries breakout 1994 hit single that topped Billboard's alternative chart, put the Cranberries in league with Nirvana and Blind Melon, just to name two acts that crashed MTV with earlier Bayer-helmed clips.
Yet O'Riordan's voice stood out. She will be forever missed and loved by those who were closest to her, as well as the millions of fans the group collectively amassed over the years.
R.I.P Dolores. I was a huge fan!
