Greetings. Yes, I understand that it can be frustrating when you've gone through the tedious process of setting up your website or blog and you plan to monetize it using third party merchants and retailers only to discover that you do not quality for their program.
For serious online marketers who are looking to replace their day jobs, this can be a disheartening experience.
Not to worry. I'll walk you through a process based on my personal experience with affiliate networks.
Common reasons for rejection emails:
Many times through no fault of your own, many online merchants and retailers will reject or decline countless request for those looking to join their programs.
This happens because many of these online businesses have very specific guidelines or requirements that they look for before they will consider approving your application.
What are they looking for:
Most people take rejection personal. Do not allow this type of thinking to get in the way of your success.
Learn to separate personal feelings from your business relationships. It's just business!
At the end of the day, it's about getting results in the form of $$$$ money.
Most companies are very specific about who they chose. Mainly because of subject matter or the nature of your business.
Potential partners are almost always looking at the following when considering your application:
1. Most businesses look for a website that fits their business model. Meaning, your website should have relevant or closely related content that compliments their product or service.
Example: If you host a food website or blog, you will want to apply to affiliate programs who offer recipes, cookware, aprons, kitchen utensils etc.
2. You should never apply to an affiliate program that sells running shoes if your website or blog is about outer space.
3. Make sure that your website or blog is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Your website should be clutter free.
A. Not a bunch of clumped together content
B. Not a lot of bulk advertisements on one page
C. No confusing or misleading links.
your content should be easy to find and your website or blog should be easy to navigate.
4. Many businesses are looking for potential partners with lots of traffic! This is probably the number one reason that many applications get rejected. You should already have at least 5000 consistent page views per month to be effective as an affiliate marketer.
5. Inside of the affiliate network interface, make sure that you completely fill out your network profile explaining your business model and what you expect to get out of a relationship with a potential partner.
Think of your affiliate network profiles as your social media profiles. Include as much detailed information as possible. This is your bread and butter. Make it count! This will in many cases, improve your odds of getting approved in the future.
Good luck and I wish you nothing but the best!
