Most people only work 9- 5 because it's necessary. Statistics show, that 80% of the population hates their jobs and it's the truth.
It's not so much the fact the you can't be productive or you that you lack creativity, it's more of the fact that many people work in a structured environment where we just feed the machine.
Meaning, you do whatever's assigned to you. Whether you're a desk receptionist, warehouse worker, or you work at the local convenient store.
Theres simply no room for being creative when someone else is paying you to do a specific job. That's just the way it is. If you work for some one else, you play by their rules.
I remember working for a delivery company a few years back where I drove a 14ft box truck from 8am until the last product was delivered. Sometime this wasn't until 10 or 11 at night, only to get back up 7 hours later and do it all over again. Not very fulfilling to say the least.
We're taught from a young age to work to collect a check. That may have applied 20 years ago, but In the modern world we live in (2018) that old mentality holds no real value.
Look at all the internet or YouTube millionaires emerging. They took their talents, found something that worked and rest is history. If you truly want to express your creativity, I suggest that you start today for a more fullfiling future and peace of mind.
Trading our time for money is unfortunately necessary especially as we get older still rubbing nickels together to pay the bills. That can be quit frustrating. Trust me I've been there, but it doesn't mean you have to settle for it.
I would by no means tell you to quit your current job, especially if you have a family to support, but im telling you as fellow human being from personal experience, that i wanat happy until i made the decision to step out and live life on my terms.
If you work in an environment where you feel smothered by a jerk of a boss or supervisor who only barks out orders and cracks the whip, or if you feel as though you're not making a contribution to whatever company you work for, then I would say if you have a natural talent or something that involves a short learning curve with lots of potential, then I would take whatever money I have saved and go persue my dreams.
Especially If you're single. Life's to short to settle for anything less. Live your dreams!
